AVTEC is proud to offer the new training suite, Building Maintenance and Construction. These short, intensive courses will support the facilities maintenance and construction industries. Students can pick and choose short courses in construction related topics to supplement their foundational knowledge. By completing this specialized training, students will possess the basic skills needed to succeed and grow in this industry.

This Applied Construction Math course is a classroom course designed to develop the mathematical skills necessary for success in the construction trades. These skills will be gained through practice and application. While this is not a prerequisite for any other courses, it does provide a solid foundation for them.

Intro to Cabinetmaking is a classroom-based course designed to develop the skills to identify the components that make up common base and wall cabinets, including hardware and wood species. Students will identify and manufacture the most common cabinet joints used along with designing a cabinet layout and manufacture a cabinet using provided cabinet plan. These skills will be gained through practice and application.

OSHA 10 training program is intended to provide entry level general industry workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site.

Roof Framing is a classroom based course designed to develop the skills required to identify components, interpret roof drawings, and construct roof systems used in the construction industry. These skills will be gained through practice and application. This is not a prerequisite for any other courses.

Fall Protection & Lockout/Tagout | 1 DAY

This course is designed to meet the training requirements set forth by OSHA standards 1915.159(d) and 1915.89(o) for fall protection and Lockout/tagout. Students will gain the knowledge and skills for the proper and safe use, documentation requirements, and maintenance
