Seafood Processor Orientation and Safety Course

This course prepares students for employment as seafood processors aboard large factory trawlers. Students are given comprehensive training in safety of life at sea procedures and the safe working practices aboard ships engaged in Alaska's seafood industry. Topics include chain of command, vessel lay-out, terminology, quality assurance, processing techniques and equipment, first aid and CPR, firefighting, and the use of survival equipment.
