This course is designed to give the student the necessary skills and knowledge to be a Shipyard Competent person. Shipyard employment presents many hazards to workers, including the potential exposure to dangerous atmospheres. Through lectures and hands-on instruction this class will cover subjects pertaining to 29 CFR 1915 Subpart A, B, C, D, and H that concerns the identification and testing of spaces to determine if it is safe for workers. The intent is to have the student continue in the Confined Space Entry/Rescue 2 day course.
