The Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) is a division of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD) and is located in Seward, Alaska. As a division of state government, we operate like any other division with the added operational functions of a provider of post-secondary workforce training–AVTEC is Alaska's training center. In addition to adhering to the vision and mission of the State of Alaska administration and the DOLWD R.E.A.C.H. values, the leadership at AVTEC has a set of values, a vision and a mission that guides the work of the staff. They are as follows:
The Alaska Vocational Training Center is the preferred provider of workforce training, source of talent and place of employment in Alaska; we change lives by providing opportunities for success.
The Alaska Vocation Training Center delivers flexible, accessible and affordable workforce training that is responsive to the dynamic needs of business and industry and serves Alaska's diverse communities.
