The Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) is a vocational training center operated by the State of Alaska as a Division of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Located in Seward, Alaska, AVTEC is an excellent place for Alaskans from across the state to gain key employability and technical skills and start on a career in less than a year.
At AVTEC we prepare Alaskans for work in Alaska and as an employer seeking talent, AVTEC can be your connection to a highly trained and competent employee. While at AVTEC students learn, practice and master a wide range of employability skills and they learn technical skills in a hands-on, accelerated training environment enabling their rapid entry into the workforce.
As employers you play a vital role in the training provided at AVTEC. Through our Occupational Advisory Committees and other connections with employers, AVTEC programs get consultation and advice on the content of training, so students will enter the workforce with the skills they need to be successful. We also invite employers and recruiters to come to the classroom to participate with students through mock interviews and class presentations on your company.
If you are seeking talent for your business, we welcome you to post job vacancies and internship and apprenticeship opportunities at AVTEC or participate in the annual job fair to recruit employees directly from their training.
We welcome your feedback, together we are providing opportunities for success for Alaskans.
