U.S. Coast Guard Approved Class - one day - by appointment

Students completing this course satisfy the requirements of 46 CFR 11.480 for renewal of an endorsement as Radar Observer Unlimited. Candidates for this course must be proficient in transfer plotting and have a good understanding of Radar theory as described in Radar Observer Manual. Students are encouraged to bring their plotting tools.

Prerequisites Previous completion of a Radar Observer (Unlimited) course and have this endorsement on their merchant mariner credential. This course is for students looking to renew their radar endorsement who do not have at least one year of relevant sea service within the last five years in a position that routinely uses radar for navigation and collision avoidance purposes.
