The Basic Training Online Course provides the necessary theory, exam and practical demonstrations required for an STCW endorsement. This course is offered in lieu of the Coast Guard exam and is approved by the U.S. Coast Guard. In addition to the online course work, this course requires 2 days of in-person assessments with AVTEC. These assessments are conducted outside at the fire field, in a classroom, and at the pool. You must be clean shaven for fire fighting assessments and have the ability to swim and tread water for the pool assessments. The online training must be completed prior to the in-person assessments.
